Registration is now open for a new members-only webinar mini-series which will accompany our annual ‘Connecting the Bits’ Members Unconference and inaugural ‘Digital Preservation Futures’ Community Forum, to be held on 12th – 13th June in Glasgow.

As a prelude to the live events, we will hear from our Commercial Supporters in quick succession about their current product and service offerings and how this relates to what their customers and DPC members might look for. Speakers from each of our Commercial Supporter organisations will be joined by a customer representative who will describe the challenges which identified their solution requirement to engaging with a solution, as well as anticipated challenges in their respective areas of digital preservation.

Following the live events, the mini-series will be concluded in two parts - firstly, with a joint panel discussion between all three Commercial Supporters and DPC members in response to the live Digital Preservation Futures event where service providers will outline their plans for the year and address any outstanding issues and questions from members; and secondly, with a webinar from the DPC team who will set out the program of activities for the year to come based on ideas and suggestions at Connecting the Bits.

Starting on 5th June, the 5 sessions will run over 4 weeks (either side of ‘Connecting the Bits’ and ‘Digital Preservation Futures’). Each webinar lasts 1 hour and uses the WebEx web conferencing platform.  All webinar episodes will be recorded and made available online after each event.

Series Overview:

Connecting with our wider community, sharing your experiences and requirements is a critical way for us to work together to address the joint challenge of digital preservation. This discussion will help form a mutual understanding of where action is necessary to facilitate the future requirements of our entire community, so we hope you will come armed with questions, recommendations and ideas.

The webinar series is for members only, but recordings will be made freely available to all.  Registration will close two days before each scheduled episode.
