The British Library is one of the World’s greatest research libraries, committed to providing researchers with access to reliable digital content now and into the future. Our digital collection is one of the most exciting and heterogeneous in the world, containing everything from digitised books and newspapers to born digital maps, eBooks and sound.

This is an exciting opportunity to help preserve the Library’s digital content. As a technical analyst in the digital preservation team working on our Integrated Preservation Suite (IPS) project, you’ll help drive the development of software repository, preservation planning and representation information components and services in order to secure the long-term preservation of the Library’s digital collections.

Possessing excellent research and analytical skills, you will be confident in applying your technical expertise and growing understanding of digital preservation to investigate relevant challenges, understand technical requirements, and identify and propose solutions for the project. Your strong software development skills will enable you to act upon your findings and quickly develop and debug the necessary components and services to successfully meet the digital preservation challenges faced. Working alongside other digital preservation and Library colleagues, you will be well-organised, able to demonstrate excellent team-working and communication skills, and be able to convey your interest in the long term preservation of our digital heritage collections.
