Deadline extended to 3rd May 2017.

The Digital Preservation Coalition is pleased to offer two scholarships to its members to help them attend the Web Archiving Week to be held in London, 12th-16th June 2017. These scholarships are aimed at early-career professionals who have passed beyond the need for introductory training but do not have ready access to further development opportunities and for whom the cost of travel and accommodation to London would be a barrier. The scholarships include conference fees and a contribution towards travel and subsistence.

Scholarship recipients will be able to attend the week of web archiving events and activities. The centrepiece of the programme is a major international conference combining the second RESAW Conference and the rescheduled IIPC Web Archiving Conference, 14-16 June. The week will begin with a two-day Archives Unleashed hackathon, and a public debate will be held on the evening of 14 June, as part of the British Library’s series of Data Conversations. Web Archiving Week is hosted by the British Library and the School of Advanced Study, University of London, and organised with the support and assistance of the IIPC, RESAW (A Research Infrastructure for the Study of Archived Web Materials), The National Archives and Archives Unleashed.

Attendance at the Web Archiving Week costs £20 per person. The Digital Preservation Coalition is pleased to offer two scholarships which meet the costs of the registration, along with a bursary of up to £300 per scholarship as a contribution towards travel and subsistence costs. Conference places have already been secured, so successful applicants will not need to register directly. Applications are welcomed from all DPC members and associates.
